Winter Whites: ft. Vans SK8-Hi #trainersontuesday

Uncategorized January 14, 2015

As an avid viewer of “What Not To Wear” (American Edition), the style rule “No white after Labour Day” has been drilled into my subconscious since birth (essentially lol). Despite this conditioning,I have gained a disdain for rules as I have gained greater confidence.

When styled with standout colours or cool tones, I really dig white in the winter. For this look, I chose my purple The Kooples jacket as the standout piece. The white trainers, light wash jeans and white tee, provide an awesome contrast.

Besides, white is kinda like snow — right?

For these trainers, I decided to shy away from basic canvas (no cliche white Converse for this girl). Instead, the cracked texture of these SK8-Hi’s keeps them edgy — a unique twist on the classic style. Infact, cracked fabric has become a serious spring trend, as I’m currently coveting this cracked jacket from Club Monaco!

Side note*: The leather jacket is a particularly special piece to me. In lieu of paying, a friend that I’m styling (helping her clean her closet, telling her what to wear) gave it to me. Its the first fashion related payment I have ever received, and it didn’t even feel like work. Guess that’s a sign that I’m on the right track! šŸ™‚

Comment below on how you wear white sneakers — or how you keep them clean in the rain. Seriously. I need to know.

What I’m Wearing

Jacket: The Kooples

Jeans: Rag & Bone Jean

Tee: Hype Mens (13-15)

Trainers: Vans

Purse: Cole Haan Outlet
