When it comes to fashion, rules are guidelines that I personally like to break. Forget sticking to one realm, and instead combine things that aren’t supposed to be combined (like Isabel Marant did in her s/s 2014 runway show). Sure, lace and leather may seem like a cliche, but the lace on this top is far more “Little House on the Prairie” than lingerie. To tone down the flouncy straps, I threw on my favourite Zara wool cardigan, which adds even more texture (WOO rule breaker). As if that wasn’t enough (I live life on the edge — what can I say), I decided on rocking bright green trainers. These shoes provide an awesome contrast to the dark green cardigan.

Moral of the story: Combining two accessories (the green sneakers and cardigan) and two textures (lace and leather) that aren’t supposed to coordinate can actually make a look pretty cool.
What I’m Wearing:
Top: Bebe
Cardigan: Zara
Shorts: BCBG
Trainers: Prada
Bag: Lulu Guinness
Headband: Anthropologie
